REYKJAVÍK CITY OF DIVERSITY AND JOY - Something for you?Multicultural Day, May 15th 2010
Multicultural Day was held for the first time in May last year and worked out wonderfully. It has become an annual event in the City of Reykjavík. The day is organized by the City Human Rights Office in cooperation with the group Convergence of Cultures.
The day opens with a Multicultural Parade from Hallgrímskirkja to City Hall and Iðnó where we have a Multucultural Festival with a variety of entertainment; music performances, singing and dancing from many countries. There will also be a market where products from various countries can be promoted and sold.
Participation in the Multicultural Parade Participation in the Multicultural Parade must be confirmed by email to samhljomur@gmail.com before May 7th. with information on the estimated number of participants (minimum and maximum). Multicultural festival at City Hall and IðnóGroups / individuals that want to entertain (singing, dancing etc.) or set up a Market Table at City Hall / Iðnó must register at jona.vigdis.kristinsdotti@rvk.is before May 7th. You need also to attend a meeting at the City Hall on May 10th at 16.00.
