The annual meeting- a review

The annual general meeting was held in  the Municipality hall of Borgarbyggð and was successful. Many people came to the meeting but we would have liked to see more Icelandic people for example representives from the Red cross here who are working very well with the matters of immigrants.  A representative from the Labour Union came and joined the organisation.  The agenda of the meeting was like this; the chairman welcomed people and told about the history of the organisation, about events on behalf of the organisation, housing promblems ( the organisation does not have a homeplace, since the Red cross doesn‘t let us use their place anymore), there was talked about the counceling on behalf of Símenntunarmiðstöðin (the Lifelong Learning Center), t-shirts for sale for the benefit of the organisation, new members added and there was talk about future plans. After that the cashier spoke about the status of our fund, we have about 18.000 íkr.  Then a short break was taken and everybody enjoyed coffee and cakes from Geirabakrí. After that, Magda Kulinska told us about her experience as an immigrant in Iceland. The meeting was over about 18:00 and we were very happy with the day.

Hi, happy to  hear that the meeting was good! Sorry I didn't make it - as RK representative also . Maybe we should start thinking about an international festival day here in Borgarnes ??? Love.
